Ingredients You’ll Need to Make Fried Chicken

  • Chicken pieces – 1 kg (here I’m taking drumsticks)
  • Buttermilk – 2 cups
  • All-purpose flour – 1 and ½ cup 
  • Cornstarch – ½ cup 
  • Eggs – 2 
  • Garlic powder – 1 tsp
  • Onion powder – 1 tsp
  • Paprika – 1 tsp 
  • Black pepper – ½ tsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp 
  • Cooking oil – for deep frying

 

Fried chicken at home

Marinate the chicken:

  1. First, add a little turmeric powder to the chicken pieces we took and wash them well.
  2. Now, in a bowl, add buttermilk, salt, pepper powder, and paprika and mix them well.
  3. Then, add the washed chicken to this mixture, cover it, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to ensure the chicken is juicy and tender.

Prepare the coating:

  1. Now, in another bowl, beat the eggs.
  2. next in a large plate, add corn flour, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and crushed pepper and mix all these .

Coat the chicken:

  1. From the marination, we need to separate the chicken pieces from the buttermilk.
  2. Now dip each chicken piece that has been taken out in the flour mixture and mix it, then dip it in the bowl of beaten eggs, take it out, and finally mix it in the flour mixture.
  3. Similarly, if you press the coating gently so that it sticks to the chicken pieces, it will give us crispiness after frying.

Fry the chicken:

  1. This is a crucial step for us.It decides the flavor of our fried chicken.
  2. First, turn on the stove and heat the oil in a deep pan, not on high heat but on medium heat.
  3. Cooking it on medium heat till the end will ensure that the chicken is cooked to the extent that it is cooked inside.
  4. Remember not to overcrowd the pan and fry the chicken in batches.
  5. That is, cook the chicken for about 8 –10 minutes, turning it occasionally until it turns golden brown, flipping it until it is done.
