How to Make Marinara Sauce
The preparation process is very simple, just follow my instructions & you will get the authentic flavor.
Instructions
Step 1: Heat the Olive Oil
First, put a medium sized sauce pan on the stove over a medium heat and add 3 tbsp of oil to it and let it warm.
Yes it is the base of our flavor.
Place a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat. Add olive oil and let it warm until it shimmers. This will be the base of your flavor.
Step 2: Build the Aromatics
Now add the finely chopped onion pieces to the oil.
Before the onion turns brown, add 3 cloves of minced garlic and now stir them well until they become fragrant.
This process will take us about 5-6 minutes; it is actually very easy to make.
Step 3: Add Tomatoes & Seasoning
Add 1 tsp dried oregano, 1 can crushed tomatoes (the better the quality of the tomatoes, the tastier they will be), salt to taste, and 1/2 tsp crushed pepper, and mix well.
Step 4: Simmer Slowly
Cover and cook on low heat for at least 30 minutes, removing the lid once in between and stirring.
For 30 minutes? Ha, yes, the more patient we are, the more tasty it will be.
Step 5: Finish with Fresh Basil
Turn off the stove and sprinkle 1 tbsp chopped fresh basil leaves on top, and add 2 tbsp olive oil for flavor.
Now mix everything well, and that’s it, our thick and rustic marinara sauce is ready.
